Mr. Dave Walsh, retired from Transport Canada, is an experienced pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. He then served with Transport Canada as a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector and as Superintendent - Regional Airlines group. During his tenure as an inspector David was assigned Primary Maintenance Inspector responsible for Canada’s second largest air carrier. As Superintendent, David was responsible for coordinating oversight activities for several Regional Airlines and Approved Maintenance Organizations. See Dave’s bio on our website.

Fly Fresh Freight concludes Phase 2 of Newfoundland Trans-Atlantic air cargo services

Following 24 weekly air cargo freighter (B 757) flights between Gander and Iceland connecting to various European Union markets, partners of the “cool supply chain” Fly Fresh Freight, Icelandair Cargo and the Provincial Department of Fisheries of Newfoundland and Labrador terminated Phase 2 of the trans-Atlantic program development.

Phase 2 was viewed a success. Phase 3 negotiations have begun and will be announced at the appropriate time.

Fly Fresh Freight and the Government of St. Pierre and Miquelon have contracted the services of Air St. Pierre to provide air cargo connection traffic to and from the airport of St. Pierre and Gander Newfoundland and Labrador.

The ATR 42 air cargo freighter services provides exporters and importer of St. Pierre and Miquelon 8 tons of air cargo lift on a weekly basis connecting with trans-Atlantic air cargo freighter operations to and from Gander Newfoundland and Labrador.

Fly Fresh Freight appoints sales agent for St. Pierre and Miquelon

In support of the recent commencement of air cargo operations from SPM connecting to and from the international air services provided in Gander Newfoundland, Fly Fresh Freight has appointed Monique Walsh as agent for Fly Fresh Freight.

Monique is a respected business entrepreneur and citizen of St. Pierre and Miquelon. In addition she serves as the head of the region’s business association.

Fly Fresh Freight enters agreement with the French Government of St. Pierre and Miquelon

In the continued development of improved direct air cargo access to the European Union, Fly Fresh Freight has entered into an agreement with the French Islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon (SPM). Utilizing the services of Air St. Pierre, Fly Fresh Freight in partnership with the SPM government, the shippers and producers of the area provides weekly ATR 42 air cargo freighter services connecting in Gander with the weekly B 737 services to and from the EU. This phase 1 of the agreement is expected to operate throughout May of 2008.

This agreement provides excellent exporting and importing logistics services for the population of SPM. This agreement is also supportive of the recent M.O.U. signed by the Government of St. Pierre and Miquelon and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

PAL is a multi-faceted aviation firm including, passenger/cargo scheduled and charter services, Maritime Surveillance, Aviation Maintenance Services, Software Engineering Services, and FBO operations.  The selection of Atlantis Aviation (consulting division) to undertake a market analysis is a result of previous collaborations between PAL and Atlantis Aviation.

Fly Fresh Freight commences Phase II, Newfoundland – European Union direct air cargo services

Fly Fresh Freight in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Fisheries, the provinces shippers and producers launched weekly B 757 air cargo freighter operations.

Utilizing Icelandair Cargo, the service provides direct access to a wide range of European destinations served by Icelandair Cargo connecting through Iceland. This second phase of development in the development of year round air cargo operations will operate from February to June of 2008.

Atlantis Aviation conducts exploratory discussions with the French Islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon

Norm Richard accompanied by Andrew Collins of PF Collins in concert with SODEPAR of St. Pierre and Miquelon conducted a business trade mission to the French Islands focused on logistics challenges.

This effort followed a successful trade mission to the Normandy Region of France in November 2007. Ongoing discussions and business development initiatives continue, including the exploration of the SPM market utilizing the newly instituted air cargo freighter operation from Gander NL to Europe with Fly Fresh Freight, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and Icelandair Cargo.

JOCK ENGLISH is currently President & CEO of InteliSys Aviation Systems, a New Brunswick based company that provides hosted management systems for airlines worldwide. Jock has over 30 years experience in commercial software systems with responsibilities ranging from development and implementation to marketing of mission critical software systems for large organizations

DAVID DEVEAU is a professional engineer with a Masters in business administration and over 13 years experience with system improvement (including ten years of involvement in the aviation industry). David brings a unique range of aviation experiences to bear, much of it at the senior management level, including responsibility and direct involvement in implementing leading edge approaches to quality and safety management, human factors, error management, and non-punitive reporting

The additions of Mr. Deveau and Mr. English as associates of Atlantis Aviation are in addition to existing associates Mr. Jean Marc Trottier, Mr. Pierre Coutu and Mr. Rick Fisher. This now brings a total of 5 industry experts to the associate team.

Atlantis Aviation awarded contract by the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial government for a study of air transportation.

The study and subsequent report undertakes “To provide potential opportunities to encourage more capacity, more direct services, more frequent services and a wide range of provincial, national and international destinations to/from all regions of Newfoundland and Labrador.”

To accomplish this directive from the Province, Atlantis Aviation Consulting in partnership with Aviation Strategies International, reviewed federal policies, provincial airport infrastructures, air fares within and to/from the province, and airlines that currently serve the province. This review established the assets and resources that exist in the province, revealing a strong foundation from which to build opportunities to enhance air capacity for Newfoundland and Labrador.

The report was completed and submitted in August, 2008.
